Merge PDF Files
Merge any number of PDF files into a single document. Drag to reorder, mix in pages from different sources, and download the combined PDF — all without uploading anything to a server. Whether you are combining scanned documents, merging reports, or organizing receipts, our PDF merger handles it all instantly and securely.
What does this tool do?
The PDF Merger combines multiple PDF files into a single, unified document. This is essential when you have related documents spread across multiple files that need to be presented or stored together. Unlike online services that upload your files to remote servers for processing, our tool performs all operations locally in your browser using advanced WebAssembly technology. This means your sensitive documents — contracts, financial records, medical files, legal papers — never leave your device. The merger preserves all original document properties including bookmarks, internal links, form fields, and metadata. You can combine two PDFs or two hundred, limited only by your device's memory. The tool supports drag-and-drop reordering, so you can arrange your documents in exactly the sequence you need before creating the final merged file.
How it works
The merger uses MuPDF, a high-performance PDF rendering engine compiled to WebAssembly, to process your files entirely within your browser. When you add PDFs to the merge queue, the tool loads each file into memory and analyzes its structure — page count, bookmarks, annotations, and form fields. You can then rearrange the order by dragging files in the list. When you initiate the merge, the tool grafts pages from each source PDF into a new document, preserving all content exactly as it appears in the originals. The merged PDF is then generated and offered for download. Because everything happens locally, even files containing confidential information can be merged safely without privacy concerns.

How to use
- 1
Upload your PDF files
Click the 'Add PDFs' button or drag and drop your files directly onto the upload area. You can select multiple files at once from your file explorer. The tool accepts standard PDF files of any size — from small single-page documents to large multi-hundred-page reports.
- 2
Arrange the merge order
Once your files appear in the list, click and drag them to arrange the order you want in the final merged document. The first file in the list will be first in the merged PDF, and so on. You can reorder files as many times as needed until the sequence is perfect.
- 3
Review and merge
Double-check the file order and total page count displayed. When satisfied, click the 'Merge PDFs' button. The tool will process all files and create a single combined document containing all pages in your specified order.
- 4
Download your merged PDF
Once processing completes, the merged PDF downloads automatically to your default download location. The file name includes a timestamp for easy identification. You can immediately open it in any PDF viewer to verify the merge was successful.
- 5
Save or share securely
Your merged document is now ready to use. Since the entire process happened locally on your device, you can confidently work with sensitive documents knowing no copies exist on external servers. Share via email, cloud storage, or print as needed.
Common use cases
Combining monthly financial reports
Accountants and finance professionals often need to merge 12 individual monthly reports into a single annual document for archiving or presentation. The PDF merger handles this in seconds, maintaining all formatting and charts.
Organizing scanned document batches
When scanning multiple batches of documents with a flatbed or document scanner, you often end up with separate PDF files. Merge them into a single organized file with pages in the correct sequence.
Creating comprehensive project proposals
Combine cover letters, executive summaries, technical specifications, pricing tables, and appendices into one professional proposal document ready for client submission.
Merging receipts for expense reports
Business travelers can combine multiple receipt PDFs from flights, hotels, meals, and transportation into a single file for easy submission to accounting departments.
Compiling legal document packages
Legal professionals can merge contracts, exhibits, appendices, and supporting documents into comprehensive case files for court filings or client delivery.
Tips & best practices
- For best performance, merge files in batches of 50 or fewer if working with very large documents
- Use the Split tool first if you need to extract specific pages from source files before merging
- Consider the Compress tool after merging if the combined file is too large for email attachments
- The merged file preserves all form fields, so interactive PDFs remain fillable after combining
